The 'story' behind the album e.g. why make this album?
For the last four years Mondo Records has been growing as one of the worlds leading trance and house orientated record labels. As a label we always strove to deliver not just the biggest tunes but often the freshest and most original sounding records around. We felt the time was right to express that sound through a series of compilations that not only captured the essence of Mondo and it’s many artists but all the records that we are passionate about up until the very moment the compilation is mixed. Very few compilations truly capture the music that is close to the hearts of so many clubbers around the world – but this one really does.
The compilation represents a journey through club cultures – from the initial sunsetters mix (as the sun goes down those tunes that take you somewhere – laid back but full of emotion) through to the daybreakers mix, the early morning anthems that scream passionate epic as arms are lifted into the air. The mix also captures the essence of the ever popular Mondo Sessions Radio Show, now broadcast on many major stations around the world (visit www.mondorecords.com then radio for more info).
For this first compilation in this series MD of Mondo Darren Tate, the producer who rose to fame for producing many of the worlds most famous club moments joins forces with producer legend Mike Koglin (with whom they share the Mondo vs Noys Sessions Radio Show on Ministry of Sound Radio), and the result is a seamlessly mixed tour de force – an artist and musical triumph of dance classics past and present rolled into one.
Info on exclusive tracks
It is hard to nail down just a few tracks as so many of these are huge club moments and have been supported by many of the worlds top DJs. There are some real exclusives however, such as Reflections, Tomorrow Never Comes and Hold Me Till The End from the forthcoming DT8 Project album Perfect World. Mike also delivers some hot new tunes that are not due to be released for months – such as his massive collaboration with POS (aka Paavo Siljamaki from Above & Beyond) Untitled Audio, and Mark Pledger (from Smith & Pledger) with the huge Ultraviolet. Theres many other massive new records from the biggest names that haven’t been released – examples include Lange vs GTR (Gareth Emery) - Back On Track, Nimmo & Bayer – Unconditional (from the team behind the Signal Runners) (and never heard before until now), Kyau vs Albert – Kiksu and many many others. Many of the biggest names appear either as artists or or on remixing duties, such as Marcus Schultz, The Thrillseekers, Will Holland, Sunny Lax, Alex Morph, Above & Beyond, Super 8, Andy Moor, Martin Roth, Mac Zimms, Adam White (Whiteroom), and some of the biggest records currently around are featured, such as the massive Whiteroom mix of‘Zirenz – Edge Of Space (currently being supported by practically everyone), and Above & Beyond vs Andy Moors classic Air For Life.
