Дебютный альбом шведского музыканта и продюсера Rikard Fredrikkson'a, получился ,на мой взгляд,довольно-таки интересным и разноплановым по звучанию.

Rikard Fredrikkson is the man behind the Probspot project, a Swedish guy from the cold Northern Europe that has an exceptional talent for sunny, warm melodies. Numerous remixes (incl Locust, Serge Devant, Crossroads, Isle Dauphine) and productions (also under the name Rico Soarez), have found their way to different labels so it was only a matter of time before Probspot would release his first album. Eleven tracks and an intro await us on the Organic Waveforms debut album. The release is set to June on the UK label Lost Language.

Intro :A serene, slow ambient start of the album, creating a beautiful mood. A soft, slow beat with beautiful drifting dreamy sounds. Nice intro for almost three minutes.

Drifting :Here we go with the first upbeat Probspot trancer. The track fades in with soft pads before unleashing a catchy bassline. The atmosphere in this tune is amazing. The lead consists of a crystal clear melody. In the breakdown the melody changes subtley supported by moody ambient sounds in the background. Alltogether a great example of simple, but damn catchy housey trance.

Obsession :We move to the more experimental side now. A mixture of elements with trancy sounds, hyperventilating drum n bass and ambient sounds. Brilliant combination, cause in some way it's relaxing, but also pushing. The vocal sample placed a couple of times in the tracks are adding a nice little touch. Neat track.

Blows My Mind :The first vocal track on this album, unfortunately I didn't have a booklet with credits while reviewing, but it's a safe bet that Ben Lost does the vocals here. It's a housey easylistening tune. It's a very nice housey track with some trancy elements. The vocals are either love or hate, the lyrics are a little poppy. After a good five minutes the tune breaks down in a breaks part, while afterwards it builds down. Pretty sweet vocal tune, but a tad too long, more then eight minutes.

Slow Midnight :We are presented again with a downbeat ambient style production. Beautiful sounds and soft pads and atmospheric surroundings. Intended to be a chill-out tune and definately bringing it up. Not much to say really, then a beautiful dreamtrip.

Swedish Cowboy :This sounds with some roaring basslines and clubby influences. The first minutes are a little minimal, with small reverbed lightweight sounds. A small breakdown introduces a nice melody, with extremele soft and dreamy pads.

Hard or Soft :We start off with some female vocal samples, fading away in the depth, before unleashing a furious breakbeat. Experimental bleeps give a slightly more electronic feel to this track. A dark and moody breakbeat trip.

Digital Emotions :A pushy, roary bassline takes us on a nice, catchy trip. The tune itself doesn't focus on a real melody the first minutes, but sounds and bass merge into a catchy tune. In the breakdown some breaks take over introducing a melancholic melody, that beautifully fades away, before returning with the bassline. A treat for Markus Schulz fans I think.

God Shaped Hole :One of the more happy tracks on the album, again with male vocals. A breakbeat hits in from the start, supporting the quite good vocals. It sounds both happy as sad, but with a glimpse of hope in the feel of the track. Very nice!

Game Over :The title would have been more appropriate as the final track of the album, but this is still track number ten. Atmospheric and deep is the best way to describe this. A housey beat and a nice looping sound carry us through the full six minutes. Catchy, somewhat repetitive sounds with a more housey approach.

Vibe :A fantastic dreaming track, with a great, soothing melodic vibe placed over the, again fantastic, bassline. All tracks on the album sound so smoothly produced and with such a good vibe in the tunes. This reminded me of some of Andy Moor's work under the Leama & Moor guise, but with a whole own touch. Brilliant.

1997 :Save the best for the last and that's exactly what Probspot did. This is an excellent new anthem, more in the style of track two, Drifting. An upbeat bassline supported by heavenly, subtle strings in the background grow into a melodic monster. A great fantastic vocal sample, a beautiful, intense melody and some excellent work in the bassline again. Simply the best!

Conclusion :One of THE summer albums for sure. Every track is slick produced, has something catchy or creates a certain mood. Probspot didn't produce only his usual mellow uplifting tracks, but sidestepped successfully to some other genre's, adding to the diversity of the album. In general a true recommendation to travel to your holiday destination with this playing in the background, it will double the fun...
